Opening a Bank Account
Banking in Northern Cyprus is modern and reliable. Both local and Turkish banks operate here, offering services for residents and non-residents. A local bank account is essential for property purchases, business, and daily life.
Residents vs. Non-Residents
🌍 Non-residents (e.g. foreign buyers, students) can open an account with proper documentation, such as a passport and property sales contract. Some banks may classify these as “offshore accounts.”
🪪 Residents with a TRNC residence or work permit can open full-service accounts more easily and often access credit or loans.
📌 You do not need to be a citizen. A valid purpose and complete documentation are key.
