The TRNC Assembly’s Legal, Political Affairs, Foreign Relations and Defence Committee has completed its second review of a bill concerning a protocol with Turkey on the construction, operation and management of higher-education student dormitories.

According to information from the TRNC Assembly reported by Yeniduzen, the committee deferred the bill’s third review until its next meeting after determining that it did not require urgent consideration.

The meeting was chaired by UBP MP Yasemi Öztürk. Education Ministry officials also presented their views on the proposed approval bill, which concerns the protocol between the TRNC and Turkey.

UBP MPs Sadık Gardiyanoğlu and Alişan Şan attended the meeting as committee members.

The bill remains under committee consideration and has not yet completed this stage of the parliamentary process.
