Cahit Yetkili wins Gold Plate title at Bulgaria golf event

Cahit Yetkili won the Gold Plate category at the Amateur Golf Championship held in Pravets, Bulgaria, according to Halkın Sesi.

The tournament took place at Pravets Golf Club from 9 to 13 September, with 87 competitors from 25 countries reported to have taken part.

Halkın Sesi said Yetkili started the final day six points behind a golfer from Romania’s national team. He finished the final round one point ahead to secure the Gold Plate trophy.

The trophy was presented by Seth Underwood, secretary general of the Bulgarian Golf Federation, the newspaper reported.

Yetkili had previously won the same trophy in 2013, according to Halkın Sesi. The report said he returned to golf last year after a lengthy break.

The KKTC Golf Federation team also competed at the event in the Championship, Silver Plate and Senior categories. Yetkili is serving as the federation’s secretary general in its current term.
