Creditwest Bank has renewed its scholarship cooperation with the Cyprus Turkish Education Foundation (KTEV), extending support to 10 additional students facing financial hardship, Halkın Sesi reported.
The agreement was renewed at a signing ceremony at the bank’s headquarters. The latest contribution brings the number of students supported through the partnership to 135, according to the report.
Creditwest has backed KTEV’s scholarship programme regularly since 2018. Deputy General Manager Şahin Pekel said the bank’s education support is intended to help successful students with limited financial means access education on more equal terms.
KTEV Trustee Board Chair Umure Örs said support from institutions plays an important role in helping students experiencing economic hardship continue their studies. She said the foundation has supported students in financial difficulty and state schools since 1994, and also assists students who have lost a parent in tragic events in North Cyprus.
Creditwest Bank said it plans to continue social responsibility projects focused on education and young people.
