The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has met representatives of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Mechanical Engineers (KTMMO) for talks on road safety, traffic education and long-term energy policy.
According to Yeniduzen, the meeting focused on possible responses to major problems facing North Cyprus, including traffic safety and energy. Participants discussed ways to improve vehicle and road safety, as well as the development of traffic education.
KTMMO representatives presented proposals aimed at a zero-deaths target in traffic, the newspaper reported.
The discussion also covered the need for a sustainable energy system and policies with a long-term focus.
CTP leader Sıla Usar İncirli said the party intended to work with stakeholders, professional organisations and specialists on traffic, energy and other fundamental issues in the coming period. She said the party was committed to addressing traffic problems and developing sustainable energy policies with relevant stakeholders.
CTP MPs Salahi Şahiner and Filiz Besim attended the meeting alongside İncirli. KTMMO was represented by its president, Ayer Yarkıner, and members of its board.
