Applications for a five-place police academy intake for the 2026–27 academic year close at the end of working hours today, the North Cyprus Police General Directorate said in information reported by Halkın Sesi.

The intake for the Internal Security Faculty of the Turkish Republic Police Academy comprises four male places and one female place. Candidates who pass the required examinations and are selected by the Police Services Commission will be sent for training with a view to appointment as police sergeants.

Applications must be made in person at the Police General Directorate. Candidates are required to obtain the application form and supporting-document list from the directorate’s official website before applying.

Under the published requirements, applicants must be TRNC citizens, be at least 18 by 4 October 2026 and not yet 22 on 5 October 2026. They must also have completed high school in either 2025 or 2026.

Applicants need a minimum score of 240 in any AYT score category, a grade D in at least three A Level subjects, or scores of at least 400 in both the SAT reading-and-writing and mathematics sections.

The directorate said that height and weight checks, followed by a B1-level English examination, will take place tomorrow at Police General Directorate headquarters. Candidates must score at least 60 in the English test. A proficiency examination is set for 30 September, while sports and oral examinations are scheduled for 1 October at the Dikmen Police Special Operations Directorate and Police General Directorate respectively.

The allocation includes two male and one female places for AYT applicants, plus one male place each for A Level and SAT applicants. The directorate said places may be transferred between examination categories and gender allocations if quotas cannot be filled.
