Değirmenlik-Akıncılar distributes 1,230 school-uniform support checks

Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality has distributed 1,230 education support checks for kindergarten and primary school students in its area, Yeniduzen reported.

Each check is worth TL 2,500 and is intended to help families buy school uniforms. The checks were handed to the principals of six schools, who will pass them on to students’ families.

Municipality President Ali Karavezirler said supporting education meant investing in the future. He also said the municipality had completed work aimed at improving school facilities in the area.

According to the municipality, painting, maintenance and repair work was carried out at Değirmenlik Primary School, Şehit Mehmet Eray Primary School, Balıkesir-Meriç Central Primary School, Cihangir-Düzova Primary School, Gaziköy Primary School and Değirmenlik High School.

The municipality also reported that school water tanks had been disinfected and maintained, with water samples collected for analysis.

The education checks form part of the municipality’s annual support programme for kindergarten and primary school pupils.
