Drift NEU Round 3 set for 19–20 September at NEU Event Park

Drift NEU Championship Round 3 is scheduled to take place at NEU Event Park on 19 and 20 September, with 41 cars expected to compete, according to Halkın Sesi.

The field is due to include drivers in the Pro, Semi-Pro, Young and Queen categories. Competitors from Turkey are also expected, including Berfu Tutumlu.

Saturday’s programme will include training and qualifying, with qualifying set to begin at 5.30pm. The event will conclude on Sunday with the Semi-Pro and Pro races.

Drift NEU Racing Team Director Dr Enver Haskasap told Halkın Sesi that organisers expect about 3,500 spectators over the weekend. This is an organiser estimate rather than a confirmed attendance figure.

Among the drivers, 13-year-old Rüzgar Okman said he is aiming to protect his lead in the Semi-Pro championship during the third round. Celal Bozbeyli said he hopes to reduce the points difference to championship leader Haskasap after a mechanical failure cost him points in the second race.

Near East Bank General Manager Timuçin Samancıoğlu said the bank would continue its support for motorsport and Drift NEU events.
