Driver raises concern over overhanging trees on Gönyeli–Girne Boğaz road

A driver has raised road-safety concerns about trees extending into the carriageway on the route between Gönyeli roundabout and Girne Boğaz.

Speaking to Halkın Sesi’s Ayaklı Gazete, the driver said motorists on the road shown in a submitted video sometimes have to move into another lane to avoid branches protruding into the roadway.

The driver said there were further stretches along the route where trees overhang the carriageway, and claimed similar conditions could be found on main roads elsewhere in North Cyprus.

They called for the trees to be pruned before they cause injury or damage to vehicles.
