Eastern Mediterranean University foundation board changes published

Changes to the North Cyprus Education Foundation management board associated with Eastern Mediterranean University were published in the Official Gazette on 6 October.

According to reports by Halkın Sesi and Yenidüzen, the Council of Ministers’ proposal took effect after it was signed by President Tufan Erhürman and published in issue 196 of the Official Gazette.

Şemi Bora was removed as chair of the foundation’s management board, with Recai Ergün appointed in his place, the two outlets reported.

Halkın Sesi reported that Hulus Hulusioğlu was appointed to the board seat vacated by Ergün.

Turan Büyükyılmaz was also removed from the board. Halkın Sesi and Yenidüzen reported that the stated grounds concerned reorganising work processes and improving coordination. Hasan Esen was appointed to replace Büyükyılmaz.
