Famagusta hospital performs three-vessel coronary bypass operation

Famagusta State Hospital has carried out a three-vessel coronary bypass operation, according to a report by Halkın Sesi citing Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek and cardiovascular surgeon Harun Gülmez.

Dinçyürek said the procedure was performed last Thursday. The operation was reported as the first coronary bypass surgery carried out at the hospital for the Famagusta region.

The surgical team included cardiovascular surgeons Harun Gülmez, Kürşat Kurt, Seran Gülbudak and Aydın Karakuzu, according to the report.

Dinçyürek also said the hospital’s angiography service had handled nearly 350 cases over several months. He said the hospital’s cardiovascular surgery service had also started operations for peripheral vascular diseases.
