Gazimağusa Municipality signs £133,848 waste truck contract

Gazimağusa Municipality has signed a contract with Serhan Kombos Otomotiv Ltd. to purchase one waste collection truck, according to municipal information carried by local media.

The contract covers a 2026-model Mercedes-Benz Arocs fitted with a Hıdromek hydraulic compactor. The municipality said the tender price was £133,848.

Under the contract terms, the vehicle is due to be delivered within 180 calendar days. It will have a body capacity of at least 22 cubic metres and a 1.5-cubic-metre loading hopper, the municipality said.

Mayor Süleyman Uluçay said the municipality was prioritising investment in vehicles and equipment to strengthen and maintain municipal services. He said the administration was assessing the city’s needs and directing municipal resources towards services.

According to the municipality, Uluçay attended the signing alongside Tender Commission Chair Özkan Oza and commission members Erhun Şahali and Özgür Dedeoğlu.
