Famagusta Municipality has signed a contract for an improvement project at the city cemetery, with works scheduled to finish within 180 calendar days of the site being handed over, Yeniduzen reported.
The agreement was signed by Famagusta Mayor Süleyman Uluçay and Ahmet Uçanok, director of Taşalp İnşaat Şti. Ltd., identified as the successful bidder.
Planned works include concrete-paved roads, the arrangement and concreting of spaces between graves, pavements, curbs and landscaping across the cemetery.
Uluçay said the project was intended to improve the cemetery’s physical conditions and create a more orderly environment for residents visiting the site, according to the report.
The municipality also said environmental considerations, along with the cemetery’s nature and usage conditions, would be carefully considered during construction.
