East Cyprus Music Meetings will host a series of free workshops and discussions for musicians, songwriters, producers, concert promoters and other music professionals in Famagusta and Larnaca during October and November, Cyprus Mail reported.
The programme will cover music copyright, entering the jazz and world music scene, festival organisation and public relations, sound design, music releases, women in the music industry and recent music scenes in Cyprus.
The next sessions are scheduled for October 25 at the EVOHK artist-run space in Larnaca. The programme begins with a music-copyright session at 11:30 a.m., followed by a session on jazz and world music at 3 p.m. and a workshop on sound design and hardware synthesis at 5:30 p.m.
Additional sessions are planned for November 8, November 22 and November 28. The closing event is titled “Growing Up in Cyprus’ Recent Music Scenes.”
The initiative is led by Cemre Arca of Cyprus Mixtape and Maria Kaimaklioti of SCALA Music & Sound Hub. It is powered by Windcraft Loud in collaboration with SCALA Music & Sound Hub and Cyprus Mixtape.
According to the report, the programme was selected through an open call by the Technical Committee on Culture to support artistic collaboration and exchange between Cyprus’ two communities. The UN Good Offices Mission in Cyprus is facilitating the programme, while the United Nations Development Programme is implementing it with European Union funding.
Workshops will be conducted in English. Admission is free, with registration available through the East Cyprus Music Meetings’ Linktree page.
