Girne American University was represented at the 30th International Biomedical Science and Technology Symposium, BIOMED 2026, in Istanbul, according to a report by Yeniduzen citing information from the university.
The symposium was held from 23 to 25 October at Yeditepe University’s İnan Kıraç Conference Hall. Prof. Dr. Terin Adalı, a faculty member in GAU’s Faculty of Medicine and head of the university’s Biomedical Sciences Research and Application Centre, attended the symposium.
Adalı presented research titled Gellan Gum–Silk Fibroin Biomimetic Hydrogels for the Regulation of Extracellular Matrix Regeneration and Cell–Biomaterial Interaction.
The presentation addressed research involving gellan gum and silk fibroin biomimetic hydrogels, as reflected in its title. The work also referred to extracellular matrix regeneration and cell–biomaterial interaction.
According to the report, Adalı said the symposium contributed to the development of collaboration and the generation of new ideas in biomedical science.
