Work to address outstanding infrastructure problems at Gazimağusa Port is continuing, Public Works and Transport Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu said.

Halkın Sesi, citing the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, reported that Sucuoğlu spent two hours inspecting the port with ministry officials. He said the port's lighting problem had been resolved and that new asphalt surfacing was expected to begin in the coming days.

Sucuoğlu also said the supply chain had been re-established in a short time and that lorries were now arriving in the country regularly.

During the visit, Sucuoğlu met representatives of the Mağusa Denizciler Birliği to discuss a pier destroyed in 2017. He said ministry officials would address matters that need to be resolved before construction of a new pier can begin.
