Labour and Social Security Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu has outlined a series of social-service measures concerning women’s employment, family support and child protection.
Speaking at the opening of Eastern Mediterranean University’s Fourth International Symposium on Women and Family Empowerment, Hasipoğlu said the government was developing services centred on strengthening women, supporting families and protecting children, Halkın Sesi reported.
He said women who complete vocational training courses successfully receive premium support for five years to assist their entry into employment. Women launching their first business can receive 100% premium support for up to five years, regardless of the sector, he added.
Hasipoğlu also said the ministry and the Bar Association cooperate to provide legal assistance to women who need a lawyer.
On child welfare, the minister said 24 foster families were caring for 31 children and supporting their development. He also cited the ministry’s E-Güvendesin platform and the Stay Safe in the Digital World reporting hotline as measures intended to protect children from risks online.
