Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality has completed the asphalt tender for the planned drag track at the Heyecan Park motorsport project, Halkın Sesi reported, citing the municipality.
The contract was awarded to Tüfekçi Ltd and signed by Mayor Ali Karavezirler and the company’s director, Hüseyin Tüfekçi, according to the municipality.
Karavezirler said the park’s opening schedule had been pushed back by difficulties in the tender process. The municipality is now aiming to finish the project by the end of the first quarter of 2027, replacing its previous completion target of 2026.
The development is planned on a 303,000-square-metre site in Değirmenlik-Akıncılar. The racing track and return-road section is expected to cover 51,500 square metres, with the track planned at 1,200 metres in length and 42 metres in width.
A further 14,000 square metres is intended for spectator stands and parking, Karavezirler said.
Planned facilities
According to the mayor, Heyecan Park is intended to accommodate a wide range of motorsport activities, including auto drag, power drift, rally spectator stages, time attack, rallycross, motorcycle drag and motocross. Plans also include areas for ATV, UTV, RC and BMX activities, along with classic-car facilities.
The proposed project also includes driver-training and traffic-education tracks, walking and cycling areas, festival space and green areas.
