North Cyprus Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has said rural land entitlement certificates were delivered to 229 recipients in Çukurova, Alaniçi, Topçuköy and Kuzucuk.
In a statement issued by the Prime Ministry, Üstel said the recipients included 40 people in Çukurova, 86 in Alaniçi, 53 in Topçuköy and 50 in Kuzucuk.
The certificates confirm entitlement under the rural land allocation process. Üstel said the policy was intended to help young people remain in their home areas, establish families and continue working and producing in North Cyprus.
He said the government was pursuing several routes to support young people’s access to housing, including rural land allocations, İlk Evim loans and social housing projects.
Üstel also said work was continuing with the Interior Ministry to extend social housing projects across North Cyprus. He announced plans for what he described as a larger social housing drive over the next five years, adding that further details would be shared later.
The prime minister said rural land would continue to be allocated without party discrimination and that the scheme would be extended to more young people in additional areas.
