European Mobility Week activities in Lefkoşa are due to conclude on Tuesday with a panel on the future of urban mobility, according to the EU Information Centre, as reported by Halkın Sesi and Yenidüzen.
The session, titled Mobility for All: The Future of Urban Mobility, is scheduled to begin at 10am at the KTÖS Conference Hall.
The EU-supported programme also included the Slowly Slowly Walled City event, with information stands and activities for children and adults. A cross-community cycling and walking stage started at İplik Pazarı in North Lefkoşa and continued to the Laou Laou event in Agio Omologies in South Lefkoşa.
The activities were organised in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the French Institute of Cyprus and the Organisation for Positive Urbanism.
Giulia Bertezzolo, head of the European Commission’s Cyprus Settlement Support Unit, said encouraging people to use active travel, public transport and other cleaner transport options was important.
European Mobility Week is held annually from 16 to 22 September and promotes walking, cycling, public transport and other clean transport solutions.
