Nicosia races held to support Kyrenia ship disaster families
The 14th Ülker Nicosia Half Marathon included three main races and additional events, with proceeds set to support the families of people who died in the Kyrenia ship disaster.

According to a report by Halkın Sesi, the 14th Ülker Nicosia Half Marathon was held in the capital under the slogan Running from Heart to Heart. Proceeds from the event will be donated to support the families of people who died in the ship disaster off Kyrenia on 30 August.
The 21-kilometre race began at 07:00 with 153 athletes taking part. The 10-kilometre event followed at 07:30 with 443 competitors, while the 5-kilometre race started at 08:00 with 316 athletes.
Nicosia Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmancı started the 21-kilometre, 10-kilometre and 5-kilometre races, the report said.
The event schedule also included a children’s race at 09:40 and a 4-kilometre public race at 10:30.
