North Cyprus is expected to see a drop in temperatures from the middle of the week, with local showers or thunderstorms possible on Thursday and Friday.
According to the North Cyprus Meteorology Department’s forecast for 15–21 September, inland maximum temperatures are expected to reach 34–37°C in the first part of the period before falling to 30–33°C later in the week. The department forecast a decline of around 4°C from midweek.
Coastal temperatures are forecast to remain around 28–31°C. Conditions are expected to be generally partly cloudy to mostly clear, although local fog may form on Wednesday morning.
Winds are forecast to be moderate from the south and west, occasionally becoming strong. The department said the region would initially be under the influence of a low-pressure system, followed by cooler, humid air at higher levels of the atmosphere.
The forecast remains subject to change, particularly for the location and intensity of any showers or thunderstorms.
