The Kuzey Kıbrıs Drag ve Spor Otomobil Derneği held the season’s third Race Fest at Cemsa Sporting Center on 26 September, according to a report by Halkın Sesi.
The event combined Time Attack races with an Auto Show. The report said 95 vehicles competed on the track, while more than 200 vehicles were displayed at the exhibition.
Organisers said 110 drivers had registered for the Time Attack competition, but 15 did not take part. The resulting 95-driver field was described by organisers as a record for the event. As the distinction comes from the organisers and is reported by a single publication, it has not been independently verified.
Kemal Topçuoğlu set the fastest time of the day in a Honda Civic. Fahri Altınör placed second in a Ferrari 599, while Aykut Sokollu finished third in the same model.
Awards were presented across a range of classes, including S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, PRO R, PRO A, PRO F, Open R, Open A, Women’s RWD, Women’s FWD, Women’s AWD, JR and YR.
Ziebart Kıbrıs distributed gift vouchers worth a reported total of TL 670,000 to ranked competitors and Auto Show award winners. The company also said its first Cyprus centre had opened in Lefkoşa.
