Reported litter piles raise concern at Dipkarpaz boat-launch site

Extensive rubbish has been reported at a boat-launching site near Apostolos Andreas Cape in Dipkarpaz, highlighting concerns about litter in the Karpaz area.

Halkın Sesi reported on September 29 that the complaint was submitted to Ayaklı Gazete by a local environmentalist. The resident said he and a friend collected rubbish at the site after fishing, but the bags they had were not enough to remove all the waste.

The resident criticised people who leave rubbish at the coastal location and said the situation reflected wider neglect of the environment.

The report did not provide details about the amount of waste, the identity of those responsible or any official response. The account has not been independently verified by News24.
