The Şampiyon Melekler ship has been approved to operate after completing technical inspections, the North Cyprus Ministry of Public Works and Transport said, as reported by Halkın Sesi.
The ministry said Türk Loydu carried out a comprehensive inspection over four days during the previous week. The ship was subsequently issued a Class Certificate valid until 12 December 2026.
According to the ministry, inspectors identified no obstacle to the vessel’s operation. It said the approval was intended to help prevent further delays and address logistics needs.
The ministry also said hundreds of trucks waiting at Mersin Port had disrupted the supply chain. The operating approval is therefore linked by the ministry to efforts to ease delays affecting maritime transport and cargo movement.
It added that technical and administrative procedures would continue to be closely monitored to support safe, orderly and uninterrupted maritime transport.
