The Social Services Department and Vodafone Mobile Operations Ltd. (Telsim) have agreed to cooperate on child digital safety, social services and communication during disasters and crises, according to the North Cyprus Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
The planned work includes activities intended to help children learn about safe internet use and to raise awareness of protecting children in digital environments. The ministry said the cooperation is also intended to make relevant support services easier to access.
As part of the plans, Telsim is expected to provide internet service to the Autism Centre. The ministry also said the partners aim to maintain communication with residents during disaster and crisis situations.
The E-Güvendesin website, at eguvendesin.gov.ct.tr, is planned to offer access to Telsim’s Safe Internet Education Portal. A link to the E-Güvendesin platform is also expected to be added to Telsim’s Safe Internet Portal.
Devices for use with the E-Güvendesin reporting hotline are among the items planned under the cooperation, the ministry said.
