Mesarya Municipality has completed renovation and environmental landscaping work at Vadili’s Atatürk Bust and Multi-Purpose Outdoor Sports Centre, opening the site for public use, Yeniduzen reported.
The facility covers approximately 2,700 square metres on Vadili Atatürk Avenue. The renewed site includes a children’s playground, outdoor exercise equipment, a walking track, seating and rest areas, green spaces and the existing Atatürk bust.
The project added a 141-metre walking track and a 408-square-metre children’s playground. The centre also has 1,664 square metres of indoor and outdoor seating areas, according to the report.
Renovation work included correcting differences in ground levels, renewing electrical systems, reorganising walking paths, completing garden walls and carrying out asphalt work where required.
Mesarya Mayor Ahmet Latif said the centre was intended to provide a social meeting place for children, young people, families and other residents.
Latif also said three symbols placed beside the Atatürk bust were dedicated to the memory of missing persons Ali Genç, İrfan Metçoğlu and Desteban Hasan.
