The Interior Ministry is set to begin a 25-week vocational training programme for young convicted prisoners and detainees at Central Prison on Thursday, according to information reported by Yeniduzen.
The programme will combine practical and theoretical instruction, with participants scheduled to receive 22 hours of training a week. This will consist of 20 hours of practical work and two hours of theory.
Courses will be offered in motor vehicle technology, welding, furniture manufacturing, heating and sanitary plumbing, and electrical installation.
The initiative is being implemented under a cooperation protocol involving the Interior Ministry, the Education Ministry, and the Labour and Social Security Ministry. The Interior Ministry will oversee its delivery.
The ministry said the programme is intended to equip participants with vocational skills that may support employment and social reintegration after release. Those who complete the training successfully and meet the required conditions are expected to be referred to vocational certification processes.
