The North Cyprus Volleyball Federation has held its ordinary general assembly, approving its activity and financial reports while discussing plans and challenges for the 2026–2027 season.
According to Halkın Sesi, the meeting took place on the evening of 21 September at the federation’s premises. Thirteen clubs involved in the 2025–2026 programme attended, alongside four new clubs expected to take part in the coming season.
The federation’s activity report and financial report were both approved unanimously, the newspaper reported. Members were also briefed on the planned organisation of competitions and activities involving 20 clubs and 73 teams in 2026–2027.
Discussion at the assembly focused on difficulties facing the new season, including a shortage of suitable venues for matches and training. Participants also raised concerns about conditions in sports halls, citing issues with lighting, heating and cooling, hygiene and playing surfaces.
Members further argued that state support was not being allocated using measures such as a sport’s growth, continuity, athlete development, international participation or the number of clubs and athletes. They also said budgets considered insufficient were sometimes transferred months late. These were concerns raised by assembly members, rather than independently verified findings.
