Wealthyhood report finds average Greek investor return of 21.1%

Wealthyhood says 82.8% of investors covered by its Greek Investor Pulse 2026 report were in profit, with an average annualised return of 21.1%.

The report, based on anonymised and aggregated data from more than 35,000 registered users, found that the typical new Greek investor was 34 years old and began investing with €100.

Women represented approximately one in six new investors, but recorded a higher average annualised return than men: 23.8%, compared with 20.9%.

ETFs popular with new investors

ETFs were the first investment for 56% of new Greek investors, according to Wealthyhood. The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF was the most popular first investment, at 18%.

Greek shares were added to the platform in July 2026. Since then, one in five investors has held Greek shares or ETFs, while 21% of every euro invested went into those assets, the report said.

During the March 2026 market sell-off, users bought €1.82 for every €1 they sold. Almost half of Greek investors did not sell any investments.

Wealthyhood also reported that investors who traded less frequently achieved higher annualised returns than more active traders, at 23.3% compared with 18.5%. The figures describe platform user data and do not establish that trading frequency caused the difference.

According to Wealthyhood, the platform launched in Cyprus through a co-branded partnership with the Bank of Cyprus. It is available to residents regardless of whether they bank with the lender and allows retail investors to trade Cypriot and Greek shares through a single application.
