According to reports by Yenidüzen and Halkın Sesi, a women-focused technology training programme has been introduced in North Cyprus through a partnership involving Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell, Turkcell Academy and the Turkish Cypriot Entrepreneurial Women’s Association (GİKAD).
The Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar, or Women Writing the Future, programme was presented at a press conference. Turkcell said it will offer 120 hours of practical specialist training in data analytics and cybersecurity.
Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell General Manager Murat Küçüközdemir said the initiative is intended to build women’s technology skills and help them make greater use of opportunities in the digital world.
Turkcell Academy Director Rumeysa Kaymakcı said the programme brings the academy’s 13 years of experience to North Cyprus. She also said GİKAD had committed to providing employment support to graduates.
GİKAD President İçim Çağıner Kavuklu described the programme as an important opportunity for young women.
